How to Dry Satin Pillowcases

Silk satin pillowcases should never be placed into the dryer, as this will damage the possibly shrink the silk fabric. Always air dry your silk satin pillowcases by either hanging or laying flat to dry.

Although it is much more preferable to air dry, some satin pillowcases made from polyester may have the ability to be machine dried if the care label explicitly allows for it. If you are allowed to machine dry your polyester satin pillowcase, then be sure to use the air dry or tumble dry low settings, and remember to remove the pillowcase from the dryer when it is still slightly damp. Be careful because failing to use the dryer properly can result in damage and shrinkage occurring to your satin.

If you are unsure how to machine dry your polyester satin pillowcases, then just choose the safe option and revert back to air drying.
